Sophia Patsko

Sophia A. Patsko, age 93, of Adah, Pa, died peacefully on December 28, 2017. She was born January 1, 1924 to the late Suzanna and John Nehela, Filbert, Pa.

She was a member of St. Albert's Parish, Palmer, Pa., St. Francis of Assisi, Masontown, PA, the Christian Mothers of St. Albert's, and the Palmer Pioneers.

Sophia enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She loved to play Bingo and was an avid reader and enjoyed music. Sophia was happiest surrounded by her family. There are treasured memories of vacations to Mexico, Hawaii, Canada and the Caribbean. She made every family gathering and holiday a special occasion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Patsko, brother, John Nehela, sisters, Ann Dunn and Mary Olsavsky and son-in-law, James Sullivan.

Cherished memories of a loving and generous mother, grandmother and great grandmother will be embraced by her family, daughters, Louise Sullivan, Carol (Robert) Danoski, Barbara (Michael) Kudra, son, Joseph (Charlene) Patsko; grandchildren, Jeffrey Danoski, Jennifer (Mark) Johnston, Jeffrey (Mallory) Patsko; great grandson, Owen Patsko, brother, Joseph Nehela and many nephews and nieces.

Friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA, on Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 2-5 p.m.; and on Wednesday January 3, 2018 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown PA, with Rev. Father William G. Berkey as celebrant.

Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
