Norma Logan

Norma J. (Yowler) Logan, age 83, of Uniontown, Pa, passed away on Monday July 29, 2019. at the Uniontown Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Sunday July 5, 1936 in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Nora (Shipley) Yowler.

Norma was the last surviving sibling of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Daniel Becker.5 brothers, Lee Yowler, Verlin C. Yowler, Jimmy Yowler, Frank Yowler, Wilbert Yowler, 5 sisters Elsie Nara, Ruth Clymer, Janet Shea, Shirley Roseman, Audrey Yowler.

Norma was a manager of the first Dairy Queen in Uniontown. She pitched for the Turtles Women’s Softball team for 7 years where she had 101 wins and 23 loses. She also enjoyed bowling with her friends at the Manor Lane Bowling Alley in Hopwood, Pa. She enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and baking specialty holiday cookies and cakes for family and friends. She was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown.

Left to cherish her memory are 4 daughters Deborah (Frank) Check, Darla (Sam) Lucente of Uniontown, Paula Logan of Ellicott City, Maryland, Laura (Tracy) Becker of Uniontown., 3 grandchildren Ashlee Check, Trisha (Darren) Webster, Tyler Becker of Uniontown, 2 great grandchildren Rory Webster, Caleb Mitchell of Uniontown. She was affectionately known by all as “Grandma Nene”

Friends will be received in the Baker-Terravecchia Funeral Home, Inc., 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, PA, on Friday August 2, 2019 from 3-8 p.m.; and on Saturday August 3, 2019 until 9:15 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Pa. at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will be private.
