Kay Nevlud R.N.

 Kay Nevlud R.N., age 90, of Masontown crossed over to her eternal home on Monday March 10, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George Nevlud and her 8 siblings.

She was born April 28, 1934in Uniontown to Thomas and Katherine Clark.

Kay came from humble beginnings, 1 of 8 children working at the Masontown shirt factory for a year after graduating German Township High School, the company knew she had aspirations of becoming a nurse and they gave her a full scholarship to Uniontown School of nursing. Kay loved her profession being the “old school” nurse wearing her nurse’s cap, cape and highly polished white shoes. Kay worked at Allegheny General Hospital, Washington Hospital and then back to Uniontown Hospital where she retired. She knew her job was to heal patients and to encourage many young medical assistants to follow in her footsteps. Kay had a passion for writing poetry and to everyone’s surprise rap songs and yodeling, she was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Masontown, she loved doing yard work and did it into her 80’s, she would not quit until it was dark and her husband George would turn on the porch light and tell her she was done. and the only thing Kay loved more than nursing was her “Rose Bud” her daughter Michele who survives with her significant other Jack Miller who she loved like a son, she is also survived by her brother Ronald Clark and his wife Carol, her niece Thresa Shellott R.N., a very special friend Jackie Staggers R.N., and her treasured beloved guard cat Pumpkin, her team of caregivers who lovingly referred to her as Ms. Kay, Michelle Halbritler, Cindy Bogol, Lynda Riffle, Delphia Mills, Debbie Young, Sarah Burton,

.Friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA, on Friday March 14, 2025 from 10-10:30 a.m. the hour of service with Gary Workman officiating.

Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown, PA.
