Betty J. (Connor) Berish, age 91, of Masontown, Pa, passed away on Saturday August 10, 2019, with her loving husband and family by her side.
She was born on Wednesday September 14, 1927 in Nemacolin, Pa, the daughter of the late William J. and Anna M. (Jaynes) Conner.
Betty graduated from Cumberland Twp. High School with the class of 1945.
She was predeceased by a son; William J. Berish Sr. and 4 siblings; Eleanor Wilson (George), William J. Connor (Edith), Audrey B. Gideon (John) and Jack W. Connor (Leona).
Betty was the last surviving member of her family.
On February 9, 1947 Betty married Robert M. Berish with whom she celebrated 72 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband Bob and children, Robert M. Berish, Jr., David A Berish (Vicki), Mary Ellen Bauer (Fred) and Samuel T. Berish (Linda) and Karen Berish.
She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Jason Berish (Kristin), William J. Berish Jr., (Misty), Valerie L. Long (Christian), Katie S. Berish (Will), Anna G. Berish, Samantha J. Bauer, Martin S. Berish and Rick Bauer and 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.’
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family.
She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and was a marvelous cook. Her pepperoni rolls were a family favorite.
Nothing gave her more pleasure than to be with the entire family.
She loved to entertain family and friends. Her Christmas Eve dinner is a favorite family tradition.
She will always be remembered as a caring person who was there to hold a hand or lend an ear.
Betty had an incredible memory for dates and never missed sending a card for every occasion to family and friends.
Friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, Pa., on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 2-8 p.m.; and on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, Pa.
Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 101 W Church Ave, Masontown, PA 15461
