Anthony J. “Dunn” “Tony” Mojock, 95, of Masontown, passed away on Tuesday October 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Sunday July 22, 1928, the son of the late Aurthur James and Mary (Barretta) Mojock.
Tony was a graduate of All Saints High School Class of 1947 and a member of All Saints Catholic Church now St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown.
He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife Domenica “Minnie” Mojock and brother Nicholas Mojock.
Tony was a member of the Italo American Citizens Club of Masontown, The Fort Mason American Legion Post 423 and The PALS Club. He played the saxophone and Clarinet in the High School band and after graduation played with the Rich Lewis Band.
Anthony was an avid reader, he has read over 5,000 books from the Masontown library since 1978 logging and dating them in a composition notebook. He enjoyed making wine with cousin Art, spending time with his family, watching sports especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Tony is survived by his daughters; Anita Solomon and husband J.C. of Lake Worth Florida, and Christine Clark and husband Dan of Hopwood, grandchildren: J.C. (Sara) Solomon, T.J. (Katherine) Solomon and Angela Hutchins (Tyler), all of Florida and Nicholas (Megan) Clark of Hopwood, great grandchildren, Clark, Theo, Charlotte, Lila and Barron.
Friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, Inc., 515 N. Main Street, Masontown, PA, on Monday October 16, 2023 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday October 17, 2023 until 10:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 101 S. Washington St., Masontown, PA, with Fr. Anthony Cortado as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery Masontown, PA., where military honors will be accorded by the Fort Mason American Legion Post 423 and the Faith Gray McArdle VFW Post 4584.
Special thanks to our Aunt Anita, Tony’s sister for checking on him sometimes on a daily basis and for providing him with his lunches from the Senior Center since Minnie passed in June of 2020, the family would also like to thank Amedisys Hospice Care and their staff, Amanda, Denise, Robin & Betty they were fantastic. Caregivers Alice and Pauline thank you.
Heartfelt thank you to Tony’s son-in-law Dan who never left his side.
